About The Book
When a woman unexpectedly loses her lifelong best friend and mentor, she finds herself burdened with the unwanted dog he has left behind. Her own battle against grief is intensified by the mute suffering of the dog, a huge Great Dane traumatized by the inexplicable disappearance of its master, and by the threat of eviction: dogs are prohibited in her apartment building. My Review: 3/10
OK I HAVE CONFIRMED THAT I DO NOT FIND BOOKS ABOUT HUMAN-CANINE INTERACTION EVEN THE SLIGHTEST BIT INTERESTING. I guess we all like reading stuff we can relate to. Also I thought something was going to happen to the dog. I kept waiting.
Why You Should Read It
If you like dogs. If they help you with grieving. It would be shallow to say this book is about a dog (it isn’t), but how we cope with loss and the age-old question of “Why is life worth living?”.
