About The Book
I solemnly swear that going forward I will update these as soon as I finish reading a book rather than waiting six months. Fuck, I can never keep to doing something consistently because I have the attention span of a goldfish.
Anyway, this book is about an African American family who moves into a predominantly white neighbourhood and immediately feels out of place. The novel explores the themes of race, class and the resulting oppressions, was uncomfortably slow in the beginning but picked up the pace halfway through.
My Review: Give It A Shot
If I may speak frankly, I can’t remember what exactly happens, because I’m doing a review 6 months later lmao, so it’s not life-changing but I don’t remember it being terrible either. Maybe a little disappointing.
Why You Should Read This Book
It’s a short read at 279 pages so you’ll be done in an hour or two. Why not do that instead of watching another episode of a K-drama?
