The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue – V. E. Schwab

About The Book

France, 1714: in a moment of desperation, a young woman makes a Faustian bargain to live forever and is cursed to be forgotten by everyone she meets. – Goodreads

My Review: So-so

I thought the premise was super interesting but the book ended up being a little bit of a drag to get through. Addie cycles through people because nobody remembers her, until she meets one person who does – and it turns out, he’s made bargain too. I just felt this book was so much longer than it needed to be, and the ending was lacklustre.

Favourite Quotes

Being forgotten, she thinks, is a bit like going mad. You begin to wonder what is real, if you are real. After all, how can a thing be real if it cannot be remembered?

Why You Should Read It

Only if you have time to kill, or if you need to remind yourself that you don’t need to live forever because there are people who know you and love you, and sometimes that’s enough.
